Computerized Kirlian Camera
In
the history of Science developing of a new instrument has always
resulted in new understanding of Reality. Microscope, telescope,
X-rays, camera, laser, computer - without these instruments the
modern science is powerless. Now a new instrument has come into
being - the solid state Computerized Gas Discharge Visualization
camera, based on well-known Kirlian Effect.
How
it works?
GDV Instrument creates a high intensity electric field (10 kV,
1024 Hz, 0.5 sec) around the object that is set on the plate of
the instrument. The electric field produces a visible gas discharge
glow around the object (a Kirlian picture). The image is transferred
to a PC-computer using built in video techniques and modern electronics.
As there is no photopaper processing involved there is no need
for dark room operating.

Software
Sophisticated computer programs process, analyze and print the
images in both visual and numerical form. Images are saved in
a computer hard disk in standard Windows Bitmap format.
Calculated numerical data may be used for input to common programs
like Microsoft Excel to draw diagrams from image data. At least
75 MHz Pentium computer with Win95 is required (computer and
printer are not delivered with GDV Instrument).
- Subtle
influences
Gas discharge can be produced around any object, and will show
variations in size, color, distribution, etc. depending on very
slight changes in the object, such as cannot be revealed by other
technique. These changes may include the electrical properties
of an object, its emission characteristics, gas evaporation and
energy exchange with the environment.
- Blood
samples Interesting observations have been made from images taken
of blood samples of cancer patients. Differences to blood samples
of healthy persons are significant.
- Stress
Psycho-emotional state of a person affects GDV images of his fingertips.
GDV images has been used to estimate stress level. GDV has been
used in sports to adjust training for peak performance.
- Calibration
Verification of the equipment settings and environmental conditions
is done by comparing the numerical parameters of test-object (a
brass cylinder) image to the optimal parameters. Calibration makes
it possible to make repeatable, scientifically approved, experiments
