New Features in the GDV Processor Program

File/Parameters for Calculation - choice of parameters which will be calculated;
File/Offer Save - offer saving images after processing;
Tools/Group Parameters - calculation of parameters for all beograms at the screen;
Tools/Invert - inverted images;
Tools/Smoothing - smoothed edges of beograms;
Tools/Framework - new set of parameters described later;
Button CUT - cut out a part of beogram, operation with pressed button:
Click the left mouse button, draw the line, click again, draw the line, click again, etc., click twice - a part of beogram would be cut out; you can process it or save; It is very convenient first Insert Sectors.

Different Palettes
Default Palette - keeps beograms palettes as it is;
Intensive Palette - every color has an equal area in the spectral curve;
Equal Palette - spectral length is divided to the equal parts, to every part is attributed its own color;
Gray Scale - b/w beograms.

Tools/Framework
Program is designed for calculating of probability parameters from the diagrams of distribution of particular beogram's contours.

For this we need to present BEO-gram as a circular picture having some distribution of density and brightness along the radii. This image may be presented as some function F(x) where x is an angle within 0-2p. Parameter F(x) may be different: it may be the maximum distance from the weight center of the BEO-gram to the most distant point - Outer Contour, or it may be average brightness along the radii, or the distance to the median. In the practical applications character of these functions would depend on the processing conditions, but it is standardized in the programs.

After opening Framework window you see histograms of brightness and density of the selected beogram. At the upper right corner you see the contours for processing.

Integer Character - summing up all the brightness or density along the radii;
Press RENDER and you would see the curve;
Outer Border - brightness at the outer contour or distance from the center (geometry);
Press RENDER and you would see the curve;

Median - brightness at the median contour or distance from the center (geometry);
Press RENDER and you would see the curve;

Bottom Line - brightness at the inner contour or distance from the center (geometry);
To get comparable data, all inner contours of fingers' beograms are transformed to the circles, so the distance from the center (geometry) at the Bottom Line is direct line;

For Brightness the numbers at one of the curves (Integer) is usually much bigger compared with other data, so the scale of the curves is different;

Brightness Var - allows creating curve at the arbitrary brightness; With Brightness Var highlighted put the mouse arrow at the left border of Brightness Histogram Window, press the left mouse button, and move the vertical line to the desired value of brightness; Press RENDER and you would see the curve for the given brightness; numbers in little windows indicate the brightness of the cut and of the curve as a whole.

Geometry Var - allows creating curve at the arbitrary density; With Geometry Var highlighted put the mouse arrow at the left border of Geometry Histogram Window, press the left mouse button, and move the vertical line to the desired value of density; Press RENDER and you would see the curve for the given density; number in the little window indicates the density of the cut.
Together with creating the curves the Program calculates a set of parameters which may be seen by pressing the button CHARACTERISTICS.

You will see the window with two screens: Entropy and Correlation;

Entropy screen presents the curve of distribution of values along the interval of variations for the given curve (for brightness and geometry); For this distribution we calculate Mean, Deviation, Central Moment and estimation of Entropy (descriptions of the procedure and detailed discussion are given in paper by K.Korotkov and D.Korotkin);

Correlation screen presents the curve of autocorrelation function and its parameters: Deviation and Angle (for brightness and geometry);

Button SAVE DATA offer saving three text files with extinction *.rds, *.brt, *.ent :
*.rds - geometry data;
*.brt - brightness data;
*.ent - set of parameters;

These files have the name of the beogram as default; they may be processed in any text program or in MS Excel and others.

Files *.rds and *.brt are matrix with 1028 values calculated by changing angle from 00 to 3600. At the bottom is written the name of the curve; these matrix are used in the process of calculating the probability parameters and automatic classification and diagnosis.

File *.ent saves the following parameters:
Entropy - geometry;
Mean - geometry;
Deviation - geometry;
Moment - geometry;
Deviation of autocorrelation function - geometry;
Angle of autocorrelation function - geometry;
Entropy - brightness;
Mean - brightness;
Deviation - brightness;
Moment - brightness;
Deviation of autocorrelation function - brightness;
Angle of autocorrelation function - brightness;
These files may be processed in any text program or in MS Excel and others.
