Introduction to Kirlian Photography 

Kirlian photography is a way of representing the energy of the body in visual form. Since discovered by inventors Semyon and Valentina Kirlian in 1939, the technique has been researched and refined by independent labs and health practitioners throughout the globe. 

What is being recorded?

All living creatures generate and emit radiations. Photons of light, electromagnetic frequencies, heat, sound, and scent are all emitted from our bodies in direct relationship to our internal states. This wonderful and subtle system of exchange contains a wealth of information.

Kirlian photography introduces a high frequency, high voltage, ultra low current to the object being photographed. In traveling through and reacting with our complex systems, this influx of electrical energy amplifies and makes visible the bodies biological and energetic exchange. The camera and the subject interact to produce a corona of multifrequency energy waves- from low infrared to well past the visible spectrum.

How is Kirlian Photography useful in the health profession?

The photographs can be used for dramatic before and after photos to illustrate the effectiveness of treatments, or to monitor changes over time. The information revealed by the images can be interpreted and used as a diagnostic tool. Using diagnostic systems developed by Peter Mandel and Dr. Korotkov, it is possible to detect very early signs of disease and energy blockages. Many have found that Kirlian photographs meet their needs in ways no other tool can.

Kirlian photography has been extensively studied in reputable labs and has shown not only consistent correlation with emotional and physical states, (including the presence of disease) but remarkable information not shown with other methods.

Can your cameras take a Kirlian photograph of the head and shoulders?

Kirlian photography is contact photography.   The object to be photographed must touch the film directly. There is a camera on the market that takes pictures of a subjects head and torso and shows colored lights around the person. Sometimes this unit is falsely marketed as a Kirlian camera. That camera inputs information about electrical skin resistance from the hand, and a computer uses those numbers as inputs in a formula that tells the camera what colors to use. Colored lights are then projected onto Polaroid film. The "aura" would show up regardless of anyone posing for the picture. The skin resistance information this unit displays would be more usable as a chart, rather than an "aura". True Kirlian photography displays vastly more useful information, and does not rely on gimmicks or false advertising.

What Parts of the Body are Photographed? 

For humans photographs are usually taken of the fingertips or hands. As the acupuncture organ meridians end in the fingertips, energy blockages or excesses will show up as empty spaces or flares. Using a diagnostic system developed by Peter Mandel and Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, a great deal of information about the psycho-physical body can be learned.   Tens of thousands of case studies have been in examined in the development of the fingertip diagnostic technique.
